THE READING TABLE
A supper club for book lovers and curious eaters
Bring a book to dinner. It might be your favourite recipe book, a novel, a journal, or an essay - whatever whets your appetite.
Bring it along to the table and share your love of food and reading. It might be a favourite cookbook, a dog-eared novel, a journal, or a beautiful oddity. Whether it’s The Futurist Cookbook (Marinetti, 1930), The Devil’s Larder (Crace, 2001), or Tart (Slutty Cheff, 2025), we’re here for it.
Food has long been a provocative literary tool - used as metaphor and message, as political and protest, as something sensual, communal, excessive, or even abhorrent. The Reading Table is a space to explore these ideas through text, taste and conversation.
Whether it’s a whole book, a single page, a chapter, or an illustration, you’re invited to bring your inspirations to the table and conversation.
Hosted in GULP’s intimate dining room, The Reading Table is part reading group, part supper club, part cultural salon — a space for curiosity, generosity, and shared appetite.
